Description
Following on from the meet up at Cafe Maitreya, Bristol Vegans second meet up meal was held at Plantation, a recent edition to A Vegan Guide to Bristol.
Opened two years ago by Bev, Bristol born and bred and of Caribbean descent, this is one of Bristol's best restaurants and another that is very vegan friendly.
Yaoh had published the 4th edition of this handy little guide, A Vegan Guide to Bristol 2006, and a buffet which was open to the public was held, and well attended. The lovely food served included Aubergine Choko, Callaloo Balls, Mushroom and Okra Pizza, Fried Plantain, Sweet Potato Chips, Red Onion Salsa, and Pitta Bread.
Following the free buffet, was the second Bristol Vegans meet up with choices from Exotic Avocado Salad or Yucca with a Classic Cuban Citrus Sauce, Ackee and Mushrooms with Fried Dumplings or Jerk tofu with Stir Fried Vegetables and rice and peas, followed by Sweet Potato Pudding or Fresh Tropical Fruit Salad.
Hope that gives you a good idea of what Plantation offers, go get yourself down there.
