Description
After the Bristol Vegan Fayre 2005 the Vegan Society Awards took place at the Rajpoot up in Clifton, between 8pm till 1am.
Entertainment included Classical North Indian Sitar and Tabla players upstairs, with intelligent drum and bass from SeFire downstairs, and legendary original award winning ClubYeyo DJ ChrisXCross dropped some classic late 80's and early 90's party tunes till the early hours.
Before that a gourmet Indian vegan buffet, the Vegan Society's 2005 Awards ceremony took place featuring, among others, vegan MP Kerry McCarthy (Bristol East).
Many of the UK's leading vegan people attended.
Among the award winners, were local firms Wild Oats and Yaoh. The Redland wholefoods store, Wild Oats, scooped the 'best retailer for animal-free shopping' award while hemp-based products manufacturer Yaoh's 'hemp milk maker' won 'best environmentally-friendly product'.
