Absolute winner, this gaff. Proper jewel in the heart of the Gloucester Road. Downstairs a deli, and upstairs a gorgeous little Cafe with what can be truthfully described as "home cooking". This is because the whole outfit is run by a charming and delightful Chilean family, who all seem to share the chores. Consequently the food is warm, rich and humourous, and there are loads of meat free options brimming with imagination and taste.

Great coffee and lovely staff. I like the way they are friendly and family-orientated. The deco needs uplifting, but some stunning Mexican and Indian art is displayed on the walls. Strongly reccommended, if you ever want a slice of Latin-America!

Great find for vegans - amazing range of products in the wholefood shop (have you tried the fresh olives?), and they are always happy to help and special order things you want in larger quanties. I bulk order the fruit stick for the familys packed lunches! In the cafe everyone will go out of their way to change things so that they are vegan. La Ruca catered for our wedding and made a wonderful range of vegan and vegetarian food, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended place!

Brilliant place! Great selection of food in the cafe, and shop. The place has a lot of character. Good tip - order Vegan & vegie food to for parties/dinner parties - delicious!

Try the dairy free/wheat free/ sugar free flapjack. Filled with dates and served with soya cream and berries- amazing.

Recently started venturing to La Ruca and so pleased that I did. A wonderful cafe with friendly staff. The food is easily veganised if you ask and we found that they added extra's so that sour cream was replaced with hummous. Really worth a visit
