Actually not strictly a delicatessen, one step into this St Marks Road Easton shop and you know you are somewhere special. Absolutely massive selection of fresh herbs and spices makes this a real haven for those looking to spice up their culinary skills, plus plenty of fresh fruit and veg, including Asian varieties as well as the mainstays. Vast groceries department too, with all sorts of interesting grains, beans and pulses plus tinned foods too, from all over the globe. Nothing quite like it in the whole of Bristol, worth a visit if you have yet to discover this oasis of exotic foods.

The sweetmarket is one of my top favourite places to go in Bristol. You can get the most amazing vegetables and fresh herbs here as well as an intereting selection of vegan sausages, fake meats, fake cheeses, pate's, tempeh and tofu's in the chiller department. Lots of the naan breads and chappatti's are also vegan and there are usually icecreams and freezer meals that are home-made. I cannot praise this place enough.
