Description

By rights this guide should be listing all the fruit and veg shops in the City, as they are a dying breed as the growth of supermarkets explodes unchecked. There is a fantastic fruit and veg shop further down the road on Cotham Hill, but nothing quite matches the Redland fruitery (or Terry's, as it is better known) for an original old school fruit and veg shop. Not a lot appears to have changed here since the Sixties, although since the last ten years there has been a growing section for the expanding demand for organic.
Owner Terry and assistant Will are both a minefield of information and opinion on the latest football news, and I can honestly say that me and Terry are the only two people in the country who still reckoned on England winning the World Cup after the shambles in Denmark and then Belfast during the latter part of 2005. Terry's nipper Ben is a true blue Everton supporter, and when he occasionally works in the shop, we always have a natter for ages about Moyes Boys chances .This year its Uefa cup at best but last year it was Champions League, and many is the time the whole shop would be wall to wall arguments should Pat the barber from up the road pop by too, as he is Liverpool through and through. Still, in the end we were all happy, as Raphaels boys won the European Cup but still finished three points Beneath us. Can't see either of them happening again in May though somehow.
