Eco Art Expo and Competition launches at Bristol

A new Eco Art Expo and competition will be staged in Bristol from May 21st to 30th. The Eco Art Show takes place at Café Kino from May 21st – 28th, and then the exhibition moves to The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre for May 29th and 30th. The exhibition will also be hosted online from May 21st at http://bristol.ecoveggiefayre.co.uk/art-exhibition

The competition comprises of 2 contrasting themes for two equally contrasting art forms: ‘Wildlife’ for fine art competitors and ‘Subways’ for exponents of street art.

Entry is via email and the best 6 in each category will be selected by a panel of experts and then hosted online and at the event, with 12 pictures in total being exhibited. The Winners in each theme will then be selected by the panel at the event and announced at 3.15pm on Sunday May 30th at the Millennium Stage at the Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre.

A prize of £100 for the winner in each category will be presented by the judges at the Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre.

Up to 8,000 people are expected at the Festival, during what could be Bristol’s biggest outdoor cultural event this year – and plenty more are visiting during the weekend as the event spans both The Waterfront Square an Millennium Square as well as The Amphitheatre with an array of over 100 Fair Trade, Eco friendly and Veggie friendly stalls and caterers.

The Fayre also boasts a wide array of talks and demos, with areas including The Veggie Nutrition Talks Room, a Veggie Cookery Demos area, a Fair Trade and Eco Friendly Talks Room, an expanded Kids Area featuring Kids Healthy Cookery Workshops from The Kitchen Academy, and a Campaigns Zone with some of the UK’s leading Eco activists on hand.

The show runs over 2 days (May 29th and 30th 2010) and features several stages, local talent competitions, theatre, a cinema and entertainment including the arrival of Roots Manuva and 3 Daft Monkeys on the main stage.

The show opens from 11am to 11pm on Saturday May 29th, and from 11am to 9pm on Sunday May 30th.
